Shane Gillis’ Second SNL Episode Raises the Bar with Hilarious Sketches

Shane Gillis’ Second SNL Episode Might Have Outdone His First

Shane Gillis returned to Saturday Night Live for his second time hosting, and it may have been even better than his first. His monologue started with some nervous energy but quickly turned into a great set. He took a hilarious shot at Ken Burns’ Civil War, calling it "900 hours long" and joking that "no one on earth has ever finished it." He also claimed it's "Kryptonite to women" and even threw in a wild Cosby joke.

The sketches delivered big laughs, with some feeling straight out of Gillian Keeves. The top three standouts were:

  • Midday News – A ridiculous take on local news dynamics.

  • Doctor’s Office – Gillis played a patient struggling with unexpected side effects.

  • A Couple of Beers – A hilarious and chaotic exchange fueled by liquid confidence.

Despite a strange cold open, the episode was a hit. With sharp writing and Gillis’ signature delivery, this SNL outing solidified his place as one of the show’s best recent hosts.
