Cazzie David proved that comedy runs in the family during her recent appearance on Late Night with Seth Meyers. While promoting her new movie, she shared how her father, Curb Your Enthusiasm creator Larry David, gave her the worst possible advice for the interview: “Don’t prepare anything.”
She then launched into a flawless impression of him, mimicking his signature late-night approach. “He’ll sit down and immediately comment on the chair,” she explained, imitating his awkward small talk: ‘This is a nice chair. Do you ever sit in these chairs? You do this with the legs? Has anyone ever lied down on this one?’
Seth Meyers, clearly enjoying the bit, agreed that Larry’s entire late-night presence is just him marveling at furniture and whatever’s in front of him. Fans of Curb know this all too well—Larry can turn any mundane observation into comedy gold.
Cazzie’s deadpan delivery and perfect pacing made the impression even funnier. If her father ever needs a stand-in for Curb Your Enthusiasm, she’s ready to go.
