George Lopez Wears Johnny Carson’s Rolex on Andrew Santino’s Podcast
In episode 4 of No Bad Lies with Andrew Santino, George Lopez revealed he was wearing a true piece of comedy history — Johnny Carson’s presidential Rolex. During the interview, Lopez explained how the watch ended up on his wrist. A man who dated Carson’s ex-wife once received it as a gift. Feeling strange about wearing a dead legend’s watch while dating his ex, he decided to sell it.
When the offer came Lopez’s way, his reaction was simple: “F*** yeah.” Lopez proudly wore the Rolex during the podcast recording. He shared that Carson received the watch in 1979 and wore it during many iconic moments, including his first show with Bo Derek and his final appearance before retiring.
Lopez added that he wore the Rolex himself during a performance on November 19th, 2001. For Lopez, it’s more than a watch — it’s a symbol of late-night comedy’s golden era and a personal connection to one of the greats.
