Houston Comics Keep Winning Big on Kill Tony — Including Colin Sledge

Houston Continues to Dominate Kill Tony—Colin Sledge Is the Newest Standout

Since Kill Tony moved to Austin in 2020, nine comics have won golden tickets through bucket pulls. Almost a quarter of those winners have come from one city: Houston.

The numbers don’t lie—Houston is pumping out serious talent. Not just quick wins either. Some of the biggest joke book getters and standout moments have come from Houston comics.

The latest name to keep an eye on? Colin Sledge.

Sledge recently cashed in his golden ticket, and the Kill Tony panel was blown away. His delivery is dry, sharp, and refreshingly original. Tony Hinchcliffe even compared his timing to Anthony Jeselnik—but made it clear Sledge brings his own twist.

“You make fun of yourself, and you do more than one punchline every three and a half minutes,” Tony said. “It’s absolutely incredible.”

Sledge isn’t playing a character. He brings real material, self-awareness, and consistent laughs. With comics like him stepping up, Houston’s grip on the Texas comedy scene just keeps getting stronger.
