Kill Tony’s Sold-Out New Year’s Arena Shows: Legends, Roasts, and Chaos

Kill Tony Takes Over Austin for a Second Year

For the second consecutive year, Kill Tony rang in the New Year with back-to-back sold-out shows at the HB Arena in Austin, Texas. Tony Hinchcliffe and his crew packed the house with 9,000 comedy fans each night, making it clear that Kill Tony is no longer just a podcast—it’s a full-blown comedy spectacle.

Last year, the Kill Tony Arena shows delivered legendary moments, including the battle for regular status between Rick Diaz and Hans Kim. This year, the show went even bigger with a guest panel featuring Joe Rogan, Harland Williams, and—according to Kill Tony lore—Joe Biden himself (via Adam Ray’s spot-on impression). Over two nights, the event brought a mix of veteran comedians, Kill Tony regulars, surprise guests, and the always-unpredictable bucket pulls.

Harland Williams Wins Guest of the Year

One of the biggest moments of the night came when Harland Williams was awarded the Kill Tony Guest of the Year award. In classic Harland fashion, his acceptance speech was a blend of heartfelt gratitude and absurd comedy.

“How could I know this was going to happen?” he joked. “Holy smokes, this was unexpected! And to be named Comedy Sex Machine is unbelievable.”

Williams’ speech continued with wild shout-outs to Donnie’s Face Braces, Crab Legs R Us, and, of course, The Count from Sesame Street.

Tony Hinchcliffe then revealed that Harland had unknowingly been sitting on the award trophy all night—proving that Kill Tony thrives on moments of chaos and unpredictability.

The Regulars Hold It Down

Both nights of the arena show featured powerhouse sets from Kill Tony regulars. Kam Patterson opened the first night, followed by Hans Kim, Ari Matti, and William Montgomery closing it out with his signature unhinged energy.

Andrew Dice Clay made a surprise appearance, delivering a full 8-minute set—without an interview segment—marking one of the rare moments when a guest gets pure stage time without the Kill Tony format kicking in.

Other notable moments included Fiona Callie making another strong appearance and Comedy Mothership door guy Lock Hogre turning in one of the best sets of the night.

Did the Bucket Deliver or Bomb?

A major question mark for every Kill Tony Arena show is whether the bucket pulls will rise to the occasion—or crash and burn in front of thousands. As expected, the bucket was a mixed bag.

One of the highlights was Luke Stam, who managed to deliver the strongest bucket set of the night despite a hilariously awkward interview. Meanwhile, another hopeful, Jacob from Oklahoma, attempted to tell a long-winded story, only to be roasted mercilessly by Tony.

Tony’s advice remains unchanged for aspiring bucket comics: Have a minute. Be prepared. And don’t try stand-up for the first time in front of 9,000 people.

Joe Biden Roasts the Panel

Adam Ray, appearing as Joe Biden, stole the show with relentless roast jokes aimed at the panel.

  • “Give it up for the star of Sex and the Obesity, David Lucas.”

  • “David’s the only guy with a harder time with stairs than me!”

  • “Hans Kim is autistic, or as I call it—he’s hoi mentally [bleep]ed.”

  • “Tony looks like Marty McFly set the DeLorean to gay guy.”

The rapid-fire Biden material kept the energy high, with the crowd eating up every absurd punchline.

Shane Gillis… or Pain Gillis?

Although many fans hoped for a surprise Shane Gillis appearance—especially after Adam Ray’s Biden impressions—he never took the stage. However, his name still came up when Tony roasted a bucket pull for looking like “what a parentless Shane Gillis would have turned into.”

The comment went viral among fans, with people online debating whether this was a perfect description or just another ruthless Hinchcliffe takedown.

Kill Tony Keeps Growing

Despite the bucket pulls struggling at times, the Kill Tony Arena shows once again proved that the podcast is bigger than ever. While the show’s fast-paced, brutal style works best in intimate clubs, these massive arena events serve as a celebration of how far the show has come.

Between legendary guest appearances, brutal roasts, and some surprise standout sets, Kill Tony’s New Year’s Eve takeover was another major success. If you missed it, the episodes will drop soon, and you won’t want to miss the chaos.
