The Funniest Moments from Story Warz—Comedy’s Hottest New Game

Comedy fans are obsessed with Story Warz, the game where comedians try to guess which ridiculous story belongs to whom. The podcast has quickly become a must-watch, delivering hilarious moments as comics lie, mislead, and throw each other under the bus. From Rich Vos and Dan Soder to Shane Gillis and Nate Bargatze, the show is packed with legendary storytelling and brutal callouts.

Here are five of the funniest Story Warz moments so far.

1. Dan Soder Lies (and Fails Miserably)

In the very first episode, Rich Vos, Dan Soder, and Brendan Sagalow debated a wild story about a guy getting caught lying by a friend’s wife at the gym when they were supposed to be doing mushrooms together. Right away, Soder started panicking, sweating under the pressure of being accused.

Big Jay Oakerson didn’t let him off the hook:
"This smells like Dan. This smells of Dan. I'm mad at how I typed this!"

Despite Soder’s attempts to deflect, everyone called him out. When the truth came out, Dan could only admit defeat.

2. Nate Bargatze’s Church Choir Nightmare

Nate Bargatze swore up and down that a story about accidentally joining a church youth choir wasn’t his. But the panel wasn’t buying it. The story—about an 8-year-old Nate being forced to sing songs he didn’t know—had his voice all over it.

Jeff Ross called it instantly:
"I can’t unhear this in Nate’s voice. It’s too polite!"

Sure enough, when the truth came out, Nate had to relive the embarrassment all over again.

3. Shane Gillis Lies Like a Pro

Shane Gillis claimed he went to an all-boys middle school, completely throwing everyone off his scent. The story? A kid writing a love letter to a girl, only for her to humiliate him by passing it around.

Everyone suspected Luis J. Gomez or Big Jay Oakerson. But when it was revealed that Shane was the real author, chaos erupted.

"You liar! You lied!" they screamed as Shane smirked.
His final confession?
"I even included a Bible verse."

That’s when the room lost it.

4. Dave Attell’s Masterful Deception

One of the best moments came from a story about separating a shoulder doing martial arts in high school and having to "adjust" to using the non-dominant hand. The comedians grilled each other, looking for clues.

Sean Patton got the heat first, but when Dave Attell sneakily revealed himself as the real storyteller, everyone felt duped.

"I pulled a switcheroo!" he bragged, proving that years of being a comedy legend also made him a master liar.

5. H. Foley’s Banana Story

The most shocking moment of all? A story about a hairdresser rubbing a banana (with a condom on it) against someone's backside while giving them a handjob.

The entire panel screamed in unison:
"IAN FIDANCE! Final answer!"

But in a Story War twist for the ages, it was actually H. Foley. His deadpan confession—"And I’d do it again."—had everyone in disbelief.
